Organizational Learning and Lean Management in Service Sector Organizations: A Comprehensive Review
Main Article Content
Abstract
The literature review focuses on Organizational Learning (OL) and Lean management concepts, particularly with respect to service sector organizations. Considering peer-reviewed articles, doctoral theses, edited volumes and institutional reports taken from various sources, the review explains the origins of OL from foundational behavioural theories through contemporary multi-level frameworks, examines core Lean principles and their application to service environments. It also establishes the connection between Lean practice and organizational learning. Investigating findings within India's rapidly growing service economy, the review identifies five prominent research gaps that justify an empirical investigation of the OL and Lean relationship in relation with Indian service organizations.
