Skill Development and Job Readiness: Analyzing the Effectiveness of Vocational Training Programmes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Vocational training programmes aim to equip individuals with industry-specific skills, enhancing their employability and job readiness. These programmes often lead to certifications or diplomas, serving as credible indicators of proficiency for employers. Vocational training focuses on hands-on experiences, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of industry-specific tasks and enhances problem-solving abilities.By providing training that aligns closely with job requirements, vocational programmes prepare students to meet employer expectations effectively. This alignment increases the likelihood of securing employment upon programme completion.Vocational training helps bridge the skills gap by aligning educational outcomes with current labor market demands, ensuring that graduates possess competencies sought by employers. Since vocational training equips people with marketable skills, vocational education contributes to economic development and helps reduce unemployment rates, benefiting both people as well as the broader economy. This empirical study investigates the effectiveness of vocational training programmes in enhancing skill development and job readiness among participants. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data was collected through pre- and post-training assessments measuring skill acquisition and employment status, while qualitative data was acquired via interviews with 100 participants across various training centers.
